Miss Crickett, my baby girl. Showed how much she loved me one more time, she went on her own. I held her in my arms against my heart as she finally let go. There is so much to say about Miss Crickett. There was just something about her. She attracted people of all ages & size. Like a trap she would lure people in with that cute little face with the button nose. Then just when you think gee how cute, she would snap. She never bit, just snapped. We would be at a dog show & people would always want to pet Crickett, forget the dog you just won breed with, can I pet her. Crickett would just look up waiting innocently, LOL.
I think it was the Giant Nationla in Harrisburg, that Miss Crickett got the cutest little bonnet of straw & little purple flower & a pouch for me to carry her in. The film crew for Animal Planet came over & asked to film her, well the did. The lady interviewing though touched Cricketts' foot. She attacked like a lion. Her photo was also in a pull out of the Canine Chronicle. We tried to get a copy of the Harrisburg show that year, but were never able to. Animal Planet said they had no copies.
When she was 9 months old we went to Obedience school. Crickett was the best dog at school, how smart she was. She made the front page of the local paper for being so smart & the littlest dog at class. She went to work with me everyday for about 8 years. Sales people would bring her treats & boy would she get when lunch was delivered. She thought water came out of the water cooler. She would dance on her back legs, waving her front legs waiting for someone to get her a drink.
On the way home she would ride in her car seat, waiting for her the last road to the house & she would bark non stop, now its a memory, then it would be how does she know. Her favorite song which she would howl to was the Lion Sleeps Tonight. If you told her you loved her she would give you Kisses, the more you said it the more kisses you got. She was the alpha of the Giants, she never let them get the best of her. It was funny because they would all go outside, she would wait till the were all done & go lift her leg. Rhett & her would do this little dance. Crickett would be on the bed, she would swing her butt in Rhetts face, he would do the happy dance on the floor, Crickett would turn around kiss him & show her butt again. It was the cutest thing to see them flirt. "Cody" her stepbrother, I think she knew he was a runaway, LOL. She never gave poor Cody an inch, if we were playing she would take his toys from him, still his chewies & my goodness if you tried to dress him for outside Crickett would crab his sweater & try to rip it apart. Good boy that Cody was, he took it all & was just happy to be.
She loved to swim, fish, run & snuggle. She would go to the lake & dig in the side, I would tell her Crick you are going to let all the water out. She would look at me like I was crazy & digg a little faster. If we were fishing, there she would stand all day with her little leg soaking wet, waiting for that bobber to move, then she would start dancing & barking. Snapping & barking at the fish, dancing around on her little legs.
